Woodcut Relief Monoprints, Installation of Core Samples | 2006
In this work I investigated the Sifton Bog in London, Ontario. I approached this work with the assistance of Dr. William W. Judd, Professor Emeritus of Zoology at the University of Western Ontario. In 1957, Dr. Judd led a movement to preserve the Sifton Bog which is the most southerly large acidic bog in Canada. I realized that I studied the ecology of the bog in order to examine the ecology of knowing. I came to understand that the structure of metaphor is crucial to both my process of making work and the work that I make.
